Release of the Ocean Forecasting Architecture Guide

The OceanPrediction DCC team is excited to announce the release of its Ocean Forecasting Architecture Guide.

Building an operational ocean forecasting system from scratch is a complex task. This comprehensive co-designed document provides technical specifications on how to build these systems, describing the essential tools and data standards required, as well as the “wiring” required between them. A total of 80 authors from 51 institutions and 18 countries contributed to this work, under the coordination of the OceanPrediction DCC, and with active participation from DITTO, Foresea, and Ocean Practices Decade programmes.

The Architecture Guide is a complementary document to the ETOOFS Guide on “Implementing Operational Ocean Monitoring and Forecasting Systems”, published in 2022.
