This workshop is organized by the GOOS Ocean Observing Co-Design Initiative (https://goosocean.org/what-we-do/goos-at-the-heart-of-the-ocean-decade/ocean-observing-co-design/) and its purpose is to understand priority gap areas, develop observational requirements and a draft design of an ocean observing system to better understand key features in the Agulhas Current region that influence critical area such as tropical cyclones and marine heatwaves. This workshop is aimed at ocean and atmospheric observationalists, modelers as well as experts from the intermediary stakeholder community, which would include entities that integrate the ocean observing data into forecasts, assessments or other products and services for delivery to end-users.
