Towards Least-CO2 Ferry Routes in the Adriatic Sea_0.pdf | 5.84 MB |
GUTTA-VISIR is a decision support system for ferries in the Adriatic Sea. Its main purpose is to provide operational least-CO2 ferry routes, depending on the forecast meteo-marine conditions.
The routes can be visualised along with the marine conditions and corresponding CO2 savings. Also, the routes can be downloaded, with detailed information available at each waypoint.
GUTTA-VISIR is based on the VISIR ship routing model. The ferry seakeeping and emission data were derived from a ship simulator installed at the University of Zadar, Croatia. The computations are performed operationally on the CMCC high performance computing facility in Lecce, Italy.
GUTTA-VISIR was developed in the frame of the Italy-Croatia Interreg project GUTTA.
